About the Nature Church and Our Services

Why is the Nature Church different than most other churches?     TravisMabonLabyrinth

We are different in many ways, but we stand out most because we honor diversity, individuality and we find Spirituality in Nature!

In 2004, the Nature Church in York, PA was started by a group of individuals who decided it was time our community had a place where one could freely express his/her beliefs without fear.

As a result of their hard work, those of us who follow Nature based religious paths have a place to learn and grow. We are a small and thriving section of the greater community with the mission of education, acceptance, peace and community.

We encourage all our visitors and members to express their beliefs and ideals. If you have an idea about a service or would like to lead one, please contact us and tell us your idea. naturechurch@yahoo.com

More about our Services

We all have our own method of connecting to Divinity and we encourage these techniques and ideals.  We want the Nature Church to remain a practical, friendly, helpful, educational and spiritual. We welcome people of all faiths to join us!

In each service we have a few standard elements you can always count on. These elements are the Announcements, Candles of Sharing, and the Offertory. We encourage every visitor to participate but if you are not comfortable doing something, you do not have to do it. Although it is nice to have everyone participate, you are always welcome to be an observer.

Each service begins at 10:30am, please arrive a few minutes early. We could always us an extra hand in setting up. It would also be nice to visit with you a little before the service.

Please remember to dress comfortably, keeping in mind the weather and personal modesty. We don’t ask that you wear your “Sunday Best”, but if that is what you prefer, by all means do what your heart desires! On occasion, a leader may ask that the congregation wear a specific color or attire. Again, if you are not comfortable with the request, please wear what feels right to you.

During each service please turn off all electronic devices and treat our leaders with respect.

Moving Forward

In creating a nurturing environment where each of us can learn and grow, the elected leaders of the Nature Church are working hard on many projects. Below are a few of our current projects:

§         Completing our 501-C3 application to become legally recognized as a Non-Profit Organization

§         An official Ordainment Program

§         A Children’s Program

§         Additional community events

§         Finding a permanent, local and natural facility to accommodate our beliefs and needs

In addition to the above mentioned projects, each year we run the Fairie Craft Castle at the Spoutwood Fairie Festival, we host an Earth Day Celebration and more!

If you would like to lend your hand in helping us achieve our goals, we encourage you to roll up your sleeves and dig in. Please contact the Nature Church via e-mail or visit our Community Page on this website for more information on how you can get involved!

Please feel free to spend some time looking at this site. Take some time to read about our leaders and then view the calendar to see our upcoming events and look at our schedule of services!

There is a lot of information here for you.  Take your time and we hope to see you this Sunday! The Nature Church is a place for sharing, caring and growing. We believe that causing harm by use of words, actions or intentions will not allow your spirit to grow and become like The Divine. We are looking to coexist peacefully with the communities that surround us so we may all learn from one another. If you seek to broaden your sensitivity and view on Religion, Faith, and Spirituality within Nature, please join us this Sunday!
