BOARD POSITIONS - The following descriptions define the main duties of each office. 
 
The President shall:
Preside at all membership meetings.
By virtue of office, be Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Present at each annual meeting of the organization an annual 
report of the work of the organization.
Be the signer/co-signer of official church documents, including checks over $500.
Call special and executive meetings as needed.
Own and moderate the Blessed Earth discussion list.
Own and moderate the church web site.
Notify members of meetings.
Be responsible, along with the treasurer, for the church PO box.
  
 The Secretary shall:
Keep the minutes and records, including voting records, of the organization.
Post meeting minutes for the viewing of the membership.
File any certificate required by any statute, federal or state.
Give and serve all notices other than meeting notice to members of the church.
Be the signer/co-signer of official church documents, including checks over $500 (in absence of president or treasurer).
Present to the membership at any meetings any communication 
addressed to him/her as Secretary of the organization.
Submit to the Board of Directors any communications which 
shall be addressed to her/him as Secretary of the organization.
Attend to all correspondence of the organization.
Preside over meetings in the absence of the president.
Moderate web-site and Blessed Earth discussion lists. 
 
 The Treasurer shall: 
Have the care and custody of all monies and financial records belonging to the organization.
Cause to be deposited in a regular business bank or trust company all monies donated, earned, or otherwise obtained by the church.
Sign checks over $500, and co-sign official church documents (in absence of president or secretary).
Give quarterly financial reports to the church membership.
Be responsible for the church lock box and along with the president, the PO box.
Keep records of supporting membership fees and volunteer hours.
Assist in developing fundraisers.
Moderate web-site and Blessed Earth discussion lists. 

 

 The Director of Ministries shall:
Book speakers and leaders for services
Contact guest speakers
Update service calendars
Ensure that building key and supplies are where they need to be and/or that those 
leading services know where supplies are located
Make sure needed supplies are available
Designate someone to bring refreshments (Welcome Committee)
Find an alternative meeting place if current building is not available for any reason
Oversee set-up and tear-down of chairs and tables
Communicate and work with Directors of other committees
 The Director of Public Relations/Special Events shall: 
Develop and implement publications
Work in conjunction with Secretary and Director of Ministry to post and/or
print publications
Coordinate church participation in appropriate events
Assist Treasurer in development and implementation of fundraisers
Act as media go-to person
Communicate and work with Directors of other committees
